Position Summary Information

Job Description Summary

The Associate Director of Transfer Admissions provides a significant leadership role in the planning and implementation of all activities executed by the Office of Admissions. This person will help lead and train other admissions staff and contribute ideas and strategies to the overall admissions/recruitment efforts. As a senior professional staff member, s/he represents the Director in a wide variety of public venues, internal meetings, and manages the office in the absence of the Director.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Work with the Director to develop new transfer recruitment strategies and plans to enhance the recruitment efforts.
• Work closely with other staff to coordinate application concerns related to special populations, ensuring appropriate consideration of a variety of academic credentials and backgrounds related to the admissions decision process.
• Completes special projects as assigned by the Director of Undergraduate Admissions, i.e., updates marketing materials, manage and develop recruitment procedures and materials.
• Frequently represents the Director in responding to concerns from students, families, and guidance counselors relating to admissions decisions.
• Responsible for vetting, initiating and developing transfer articulations with community colleges.
• Visits community colleges, universities and agencies throughout New England to present and to counsel students on the educational programs and opportunities available at Husson University.
• Represents the University at various fairs and informative programs throughout New England.
• Coordinate special projects and ad-hoc assignments at the request of the Director.
• Develops and maintains an overall knowledge of each program of study and articulation agreement so that questions may be discussed with prospective students.
• Assists in the office with processing of applications, meets with potential students.
• Accurately enter undergraduate transfer application data into the University’s database.
• Participates in and attends professional workshops and organizations.
• Maintains responsibility for student goals from his/her market area.
• Work with academic and administrative departments to facilitate services for applicants, accepted students and provide prospect and applicant data to academic departments.
• Manage Extended Learning applications and assist with enrollment process for Extended Learning students.
• Other miscellaneous duties may be assigned.

Education and Experience

Education: B.S. degree required, Master’s preferred.

Experience: A minimum of 4+ years in admissions field preferred.
